Biography


Meri Musaev, a Georgian oboist was born in 1998 into a musical family in Mersin, Turkey. As a soloist from an early age, Musaev performed with the Mersin State Opera and Ballet Orchestra, Çukurova State Symphony Orchestra, Batumi State Symphony Orchestra and Mersin University Academic Chamber Orchestra. In addition, Ms. Musaev has won first prizes in several international competitions such as Harmonia Festival Competition, in 2016 and International Music Competition “Silk Way”, in 2020. 


She began her studies at the State Conservatory of Mersin University with David Tchumburidze, where she graduated in 2017. The next year she moved to Berlin to study with Prof. Gregor Witt at the Barenboim - Said Academy. 


Today Musaev is a student of Prof. Viola Wilmsen at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin.

Musaev has also participated in the masterclasses with Daniel Barenboim, Heinz Holliger, Matthias Arter, Vicente Llimera, George Beridze, Klaus Thunemann, Emanuel Pahud and Adrás Schiff.


Currently, Musaev is guest oboist in German National Orchestra, Berliner Operngruppe, “Critical Orchestra” and Neue Potsdamer Hofkapelle. She is participating in many different orchestra projects in Germany and is based in Berlin.
